Universitetssykehuset Nord-Norge HF

The University Hospital North Norway (UNN), represented by the New-born intensive section, the Children Department, requests tenders for 5 respirators of which 3 respirators shall be delivered immediately when contract is entered into.
2 respirators shall be delivered during 2013 in accordance with further agreement. The equipment shall comprise respirators for treatment of premature and new born. Estimated use is approx. 30 patients per annum with respirator treatment time from 1 to 30 days. The respirator shall have option for conventional tidal volume controlled treatment.
This controlled treatment shall be based on expiratory tidal volume as this is the only way to correctly control tidal volume on small premature infants. Control of inspiratory tidal volume will result in major errors in case of tube leakage, which is common among premature.
The respirator shall also have option for treatment of high frequency ventilation as well as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). The Awarding Authority will enter into framework agreement for respirator tubes with moist chambers (disposable), flow sensors, test lungs or other disposable equipment required for the apparatus. The Awarding Authority uses Mercell Sourcing Service in this tender procedure.
