Norwegian Polar Research Vessel

The Norwegian Government has decided to build an ice-going research vessel which will be owned by the Norwegian Polar Institute on behalf of the Norwegian Government. The Institute of Marine Research (IMR) will be the operator of the Vessel.
The scope of the contract:
To construct, outfit and deliver an icegoing research vessel, length approximately 100m, with the following DNV Class:
DNV + 1A1, E0, RP, NAUT-OSV, CLEAN DESIGN, PC-3 Icebreaker, DAT(-35ºC), WINTERIZED BASIC, HELDK-SHF, DYNPOS-AUTS, COMF-V(2)/C(2), DK(+).
