Løren Track - U1 - Substructure contract

The project Lørenbanen consists of a 1.6 km double track underground stretch in a tunnel between Sinsen on the Central Track (underground ring) and Økern on the Grorud Track, with an underground station at Løren of which approx. 1100m is in a rock tunnel and approx. 500m in the open air (including a concrete tunnel). In addition a new substructure and superstructure shall be established on an approx. 500m stretch on the Grorud Track between Hasle station and the culvert towards Økern. Completion of the project is planned during 2016.
Completion of the project will give the basis for exploiting the underground system's total capacity better than today, within three main areas:
1. Relieve the joint stretch (Tøyen - Majorstuen) through the city centre with one train from the Grorud Track, so that the Østensjø Track can have increased frequency from one to two trains per 15 minutes.
2. Establish a new track connection for a direct line between the Grorud Track and the underground ring towards the north.
3. Establish Løren station in the town development area at Løren and connect the new residential areas to the underground.
The project will be carried out in several contracts.
This procurement is for contract "Løren Track - U1 - Substructure contractr" that comprises, amongst other things:
— driving and securing a rock tunnel including a station hall for Løren station. 470m two track tunnel, 2 x 450m one track tunnel, as well as an access tunnel and blasting of two shafts from the open air down to the underground station. Rock work in the connection zone towards the Central Track is included in another contract (U2),
— approx. 200m concrete tunnel and approx. 70m trough between the Grorud Track and the portaling. In addition support walls shall be constructed along the Grorud Track. Much of the work in this area will be carried out close to the Grorud Track with the underground in operation,
— approx. 10000m2 sheet piling and 2000m steel core piles,
— water and frost protection and the substructure are also included on approx. half of the stretch of the rock tunnel. The substructure is included in the concrete tunnel and trough in this contract,
— 2 track Grorud Track in the open air, stretch of approx. 500m that includes super and substructure, (including the establishment of points and crossing track), traction current, electro/tele and automation,
— alteration of cables and pipelines as well as the establishment of new water and sewage pipelines,
— temporary and permanent road alterations.
The contract will have a hectic start in which a lot of work must be carried out in a 3 month train stoppage period in summer (24/6 - 22/9) 2013. During the train stoppage period parts of the construction pit shall be established and prepared for one track operation past the site area. The estimated construction period for this contract is approx. 2.5 years.

The qualification documents, self-evaluation form for HSe and QA system as well as any other relevant documentation are available on KTP's procurement portal and are available for all interested parties. KTP draws attention to the fact that registration is made electronically by uploading all the requested documentation by the stated registration deadline via the procurement portal.
