The City of Bergen shall during the next three years expand and upgrade four of the largest mechanical sewage treatment plants in the municipality:
The following plants shall be upgraded:
— Ytre Sandviken sewage treatment plant,
— Kverneviken sewage treatment plant,
— Holen sewage treatment plant,
— Flesland sewage treatment plant.
All of the plants are located in rock. New rock halls/transport tunnels shall be blasted for the plant upgrades. New basins shal be cast in rock halls for the treatment of the sewage water, and various rooms shal be established for technical installations, etc.
The contracts for the implementation of rock blasting and the construction works for Ytre Sandviken and Kvernevik sewage treatment plant have already been established.
These qualification documents relate to the pre-qualification for participation in the tender competitions for the following contracts:
V5.1, heating and plumbing installations, Ytre Sandviken sewage treatment plant (EEA 042-2012).
V4.1, heating and plumbing installations, Kvernevik sewage treatment plant (EEA 044-2012).
The corresponding pre-qualification for the participation in the tender competition related to the implementation of the contract V3.1, heating and plumbing installation, Holen sewage treatment plant and V1.1, heating and plumbing installation, Flesland sewage treatment plant will be completed within the first half of 2 013.
Tender documentation for V5.1 and V4.1 are expected to be emitted in week 02/2013. The contracts will be signed after NS8405: 2008. Any changes and specifications will be stated in the tender documents.

As of 01.11.12 The situation these particular contracting are as follows:V5.1 – Ytre Sandviken sewage treatment plant:* Delivery and installation of piping and equipment for utility systems for the sewage treatment plant, including fire water, portable water, purified sewage water for flushing, high-pressure cleaning system and compressed air system. The new installations shall be connected to existing facilities.* Additionally the installation of complete water heating plants in new areas, existing personal areas and locker rooms. The facilities should connect to the existing heating system.* There will also be a need for modification of the existing heating system with heat pumps. The heating pump will get heat from the cleaned sewage water effluent. The exchanger shall preferably be a pipe exchanger with good access for cleaning. It should also be prepared for automatic cleaning of the exchanger. Heating of the ventilation, heating and hot water water for consumption in the treatment plant.The dimension effect on the total heat system will be approx. 400 kW.Time period for contract: April 2013 - November 2013.V4.1 - Kvernevik sewage treatment plant:* Delivery and installation of piping and equipment for utility systems for the sewage treatment plant, including fire water, portable water, purified sewage water for flushing, high-pressure cleaning system and compressed air system.* A new heating system consisting of electric boiler, heat pump and recycling systems which collect excess heat from blowers and compressors shall be delivered. The electric boiler is approx. 300 kW, while the heat pump shall deliver approx. 150 kW.
