The aim of this project is to ensure that future orientated and scaleable broad band access is established in the described areas. The areas are situated along two routes. One goes between Kyrksæterøra and Hellandsjø/Heim in Hemne municipality. The other goes from Kyrksæterøra in Hemne municipality to Krokstadøra i Snillfjord municipality. There are several small hamlets/areas along both routes that lack or have low broad band capacity. The capacity varies between 0-10 Mbits/s. This is due to typical problems connected to ADSL, such as long line lengths, bad line quality and low transmission capacity. The intention is to increase the capacity where relevant, adapt for future fibre projects, as well as ensure that municipal companies and services get an optimal and future orientated infrastructure.
