Romerike Avfallsforedling IKS (ROAF)

In order to comply with and satisfy agreed requirements for material and energy recovery, the Awarding Authority has decided to construct a new fully automatic sorting plant for household waste. The plant shall be based on NIR technology (electromechanical processing plant).
The sorting plant comprises 3 main sections: Reception hall, waste separation hall and storage hall, as well as driving area for transport of sort out fractions. The plant also includes a “technical building” located wall-to-wall with the sorting hall. The technical building includes control room for monitoring the process plant, various technical rooms and a new network station.
The total area of the building is approx. 5 870 m², including a technical building with up to 13 m clear internal height. The building is planned to be constructed with a load bearing structure and with steel ceiling and walls. The building shall be founded on concrete foundations above framed concrete piles. Contract K2001 includes all grounds and concrete works for the following steel building contract.
