IVAR IKS

Waste quantity in IVAR municipalities in 2010 was approx. 41 000 tons/year from households and recycling stations. By 2020, this will increase to approximately 60,000 tons/year.
The residue contains plastics, paper, wood, glass and metal. To remove these fractions when the waste is delivered to the incinerator IVAR IKS wish to establish a sorting facility to separate fractions that can be delivered for recycling.
IVAR board has made decisions on the construction of waste facilities upon the assumption that the investment is profitable compared to current arrangements, and that the facility can be established with acceptable conditions for the working and external environments. These are issues that must be clarified in the pilot project.
