The project comprises design and construction of spherical radome over existing radar antenna. The radome diameter is not determined, but will be in the range of 45-65 feet in diameter. The size will be specified in the tender documents. The radome shall be constructed by the use of rigid self-supporting elements. It shall be possible to replace elements as/when needed.
The radome shall be established on Norway’s West coast, an area with very large climatic stress in the form of wind and rain.
The contract shall be executed as a turnkey contract with the following partial deliveries:
— detailed engineering design of the radome, including:
—— engineering design, planning and design of the radome / radome elements, joints, port and attachment to the foundation,
—— coordination with the supplier of foundations,
—— production of the radome and related elements,
—— factory-Test (FAT) of the radome elements,
—— transport of the radome and related elements to the building site,
—— installation of radome on the foundation, or a dedicated tutor with experience of installation of equivalent radome,
—— site Test (SAT) of the finished radome.
It may be necessary to transfer this assignment to the main contractor for the other construction work.
Radome shall be installed and tested by 1.10.2013.
