Fighting foreign plants that are a serious threat to our natural plant and animal life is a part of the municipality’s responsibility for keeping biological diversity. Other environmental and health consequences are also a background for the measures. The main work will consist of fighting the most problematic plants, “kjempebjørnekjeks”, “tromsøpalme” and “kjempespringfrø”.
The assignment will also include fighting some occurrences of other foreign invading plants and mapping selected foreign plants.
The work included in this contract consists of fighting measures, checking and reporting concrete occurrences, as well as searching for and fighting any new occurrences (see annex 3 Specifications).
The long term aim is to eradicate or reduce the ecological occurrences of the problematic species. The contracts all of the awarding authority’s needs for fighting foreign invading species in the contract period.
