Surveillance of acidification situations in lakes

Direktoratet for naturforvaltning

Directorate for Nature Management, henceforth referred to as the Awarding Authority, invites to a tender contest regarding biological surveillance of the impact of acid rain in Norwegian lakes. This is a part of the surveillance programme for long-range transported polluted air and rainfall. The programme is coordinated by the Climate and Pollution Agency. The Awarding Authority will be responsible for biological surveillance in lakes.
The assignment includes:
— Sampling of fish, bottom fauna, planktonic crustaceans and littoral crustaceans in lakes in accordance with standardised and/or international published and recognized methodology,
— Laboratory analyses of the samples in accordance with standardised and/or international published and recognized methodology,
— A total assessment, assessment of long-term trends and reporting of the collected data,
— Water samples from each lake shall be collected, simultaneously with implementation of biological sampling. The samples shall be analysed in another project.
