Project 11912 Gunnerusgate 1, Renovation - H001 External engineering design management/Ass PL

Statsbygg has decided to renovate/alter Gunnerusgate 1 in Trondheim to condition degree 1, as a part of the development of Kalvskinnet to the main campus for HiST (Sør-Trøndelag University College).
The need for maintenance is considerable in the whole of Gunnerusgate 1. The technical installations must mostly be replaced. The layout shall be changed in order to achieve appropriate, more rational areas which are efficient and adapted to HiST’s current and future needs.
The oldest part of the building in the south west was constructed in 1930 as Trondhjem Mellomtekniske skole. The main part of the building was constructed in 1962, whilst a middle building was constructed in 1992 with a new main staircase which connects the two parts together.
The whole building is 10 063 m2 gross, whilst the construction project is mostly limited to 7 412 m2 (levels 2-5). Half of level 1 (1 002 m2) is included in Statsbygg project TP10035 HiST Kalvskinnet (new technology building). The remainder of level 1 and the whole of level 6 (retracted with ceiling height 2 m) are to be engineered but it is not planned to have priority in the construction phase.
The building parts which are planned to be included in the construction phase are the following three sections (levels 2-5), in order or priority:
— northern part of the main building to the main staircase: 3 316 m2 gross,
— the remainder of the main building: 2 752 m2 gross,
— the old building (1930): 1 344 m2 gross,
— total: 7 412 m2 gross.
The plan is to sign a contract with a complete PG (engineering design group) including PGK (engineering design group coordinator) and SI (system integrator).
The engineering design services and execution are expected to be coordinated with the plans and systems for the new technology building (TP10035 HiST Kalvskinnet).
The project is cost controlled with a given control limit. The completed preliminary project with cost estimate will be decisive for the division and extent of the execution.
