A new choir organ with approx. 30 stops divided between 2 manuals and pedals shall be constructed. One of the manuals is thought to be made in swell.
The organ shall:
— be able to lead the congregation’s songs,
— accompany the choir and soloists,
— be suitable for presenting organ literature of various natures.
The pipes of the current instrument is entirely placed in the long choir’s southern triforium. There must be room for the new choir organ in the triforiums, but both the northern and the southern triforium can be used. The idea is to place the new organ as close to the transept as possible.
The organ is presumed constructed with electronic tract and it shall be served from a mobile playing table on the floor in the long choir with at least three connection points.
The organ and the main organ (the Steinmeyer organ) must be able to be connected together. At the same time as the new choir organ is expected to have its own ringing profile, it must balance with the main organ. The choir organ must be able to be played from the main organ and the main organ from the choir organ. Therefore, in connection with the renovation of the Steinmeyer organ, the responsibility for constructing a mobile playing table that can serve both the organs is included in this tender competition. This assumes that both the organ constructors who are awarded the respective assignments enter into close cooperation on the technical solutions. It is assumed that the price of the tender for the construction of a new choir organ includes the necessary measures for preparing a connection with the main organ. A decision will be made later as to whether the mobile playing table for the choir organ shall also serve the Steinmeyer organ. The main responsibility for all the electrical installations shall be at the company that restores the Steinmeyer organ.
In order to protect the instrument from dust and damp penetration, the pipes must be built-in the organ house. Emphasis will be put on the easiest possible access for maintenance and tuning.
