IVAR IKS

IVAR IKS currently makes pellets from dried sludge at SNJ (Central treatment plant North-Jæren). This pellet has limited value as manure for agriculture. In order to increase the sales potential of pellets from dried sludge, IVAR IKS has considered to add nutritive substances to the sludge, so that it can be used as corn manure.
The nutritive substances that shall be added are urea, potassium chloride and bone flour.
Trials with the production and tests of the product have shown to be very successful and preliminary studies of possibilities for the production of such pellets at the existing sludge treatment plant at SNJ have been carried out. A preliminary project has been carried out which has lead to IVAR IKS deciding to construct such a factory based on dried sludge from the sewage treatment plant.
