The T2 project comprises a considerable expansion of the existing buildings. Heating and cooling the new building shall be carried out by water borne heating and cooling from OSL’s central district heating and cooling plant. This means that there is a need for an expansion of the central production plan for heating and cooling production.
OSL’s district heating and cooling plant is based on low temperature district heating that is produced centrally by the use of heat pumps that use ground water as a source for the heating and cooling production. Existing oil boilers, electrode boilers and heat exchangers are used for peak loads against external high temperature district heating. The existing peak load capacity is sufficient for the increased need, whilst the base load capacity shall be expanded with new heat pump capacity in the energy centre, as well as the source side being supplemented with a new unit (heat pump and free exchange) that uses treated sewage water from municipal treatment plants as a source. In addition the oil tank installations shall be expanded with new oil tanks.
The heat pumps shall be procured through a separate awarding authority managed procurement, contract 72411 Heat pumps.
Contract 72412 Plumbing installations thermal shall carry out plumbing works for connecting the new heat pumps to the production installations as well as delivering fittings, pumps and heat exchangers for the plumbing installations.
The plumbing work comprises plumbing works in the energy centre, new centre for recovering heat from treated sewage water (DA8) and exchange centre against ground water wells (VG1).
The plumbing work will, among other things, comprise pipe dimensions up to DN400 with pressure class PN16.
The expansion of the heat pump installations consists of the following effect expansions:
In the energy centre:
— heat delivery: 5,5 MW (36/50°C condenser, 20/12°C evaporator),
— cooling delivery: 4 MW (36/41°C condenser, 15/1°C evaporator).
New centre for recovery of heat from municipal treated sewage water:
— heat delivery: 3 MW (13/25°C condenser, 15/10°C evaporator),
— cooling delivery: 2,5 MW (15/20°C condenser, 10/5°C evaporator).
