"Future rural tourism in Scandinavia”

Vennesla kommune

LISA would like to carry out a project with the aim of getting ideas as to how rural areas can be made more attractive for tourists. The main focus will be to inspire new ideas in the further processes connected to local clarification of segmentation and product development, as well as joint development of a marketing concept. The following problems are to be illustrated:
1. How is the future rural tourist?
2. What does the future rural tourist want?
3. How is the future rural tourist reached?
The awarding authority would thus like recommendations from the tenderer for the proposal for (joint) initiatives which ought to be carried out to further develop tourism, seen in the light of the replies to the previous problems.

The formal awarding authority will however will be Norwegian project owner Knutepunkt Sørlandet. LISA will run for 3 years, from June 2009 to May 2012 and it has a total budet limit of 32 200 000 NOK for all 3 countries, of which half is self-financing from the partners in the project. The rest is financial support from Interreg IV A/the Kattegat Skagerrak programme (KASK) and from the Norwegian government via Østfold county. KASK is a programme for European territorial cooperation (Interreg). It supports border crossing cooperation projects between partners from Denmark, Sweden and Norway for increased growth and sustainable development.
